Confirmation |
|
Confirmation instruction is designed to give youth the opportunity to acknowledge their Baptism, embrace faith in Jesus Christ, identify with Lutheran theology and publicly confess their faith in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Confirmation instruction typically begins in the 7th grade year and continues through 8th grade. Students cover the entire Small Catechism over the two-year period. The rite of Confirmation takes place in the Fall of the 9th grade year. Pastor Marxhausen teaches the confirmation class using Luther’s Small Catechism and supplemental materials. Students memorize portions of the Small Catechism and Scripture verses as well as complete 20 “Worship Reflections.” Also included in the program are annual retreats and a service project. |
